Sarina Dickson is a writer, artist and educator based in Christchurch. Hachette Aotearoa NZ published ‘The Fairies’ Night Before Christmas’ illustrated by Sarah Greig and ‘A Stick and a Stone’ illustrated by Hilary Jean Tapper in 2021, and 'The Chaos Before Christmas' illustrated by Lily Emo in 2022. 'The Fairies' Easter Egg Surprise' illustrated by Hilary Jean Tapper and 'Mumapalooza' illustrated by Ant Sang are Sarina's most recent releases. 'Dadapalooza' illustrated by Ant Sang and 'The Gnomes' Very Berry Christmas' illustrated by Minrui Yang will be available later in 2023. Sarina has enjoyed a varied and creative working life, with collaborations in publishing, mental health and wellness, education, illustration, social enterprise and public art. Currently her working week is spent writing (and rewriting) children's fiction, editing the School For Young Writers' magazine 'Write On' and teaching at Hagley Adult Literacy Centre. Sarina finds inspiration in the natural world, in connection, and in the lines of Leonard Cohen, Reb Fountain and Mary Oliver. Sarina holds a Bachelor of Education and a Graduate Diploma of Teaching and Learning. |
